The political climate of 2017 was marked by intense discussions surrounding disinformation, misinformation, and foreign interference in elections. In the zeitgeist following the 2016 U.S. presidential election, concerns about the integrity of democratic processes came to the forefront. Investigations into alleged foreign meddling, particularly by Russia, dominated headlines and political debates. Social media platforms faced scrutiny for their role in spreading false information and propaganda, leading to calls for greater regulation and transparency. This period highlighted the challenges democracies have continually faced with the latest symptoms, a technological capitalism pregnant with socialism.

This body of work explored the concept of language through the mixed mediums, where written text transcends its traditional role as mere communication and becomes an integral part of the visual composition. By combining gestural lines with blocks of color, I was creating dynamic visual fields that serve as both backgrounds and frameworks for the writings, blurring the boundaries between drawing and text. The gestural lines evoke a sense of movement and spontaneity, mimicking the fleeting forms of spoken language, while the color blocks provide structured spaces that highlight the textual elements. The work uses color settings for interplay with language not only intellectually but also visually, emphasizing the expressive potential of words when the information is unclear but suggestive. The work challenges conventional perceptions of language, presenting it as a living, visual entity that interacts with form, color, and gesture to convey meaning beyond literal interpretation.
